Branding

Kelly Hygiene & Catering

Formerly DHC, Eamon and Mairead Kelly branched out to form the new enterprise Kelly Hygiene & Catering. I was commissioned to create a new logo, which was then applied to all the new brochures, flyers, stationery, pop-up banners, and of course, the vehicle fleet. Keeping a consistent look and feel to all the promotional material is key to a strong brand, even applying this approach to the Exhibitions and Shows that KHC attend.

I also created a website for the subsidary MerrychefIreland, which is the main agents in Ireland for Merry Chef ovens…

Mac's Deli

The very popular family-run Café, Bakery and Outside Catering business was looking to substantially update the premises, both internally and externally. I was commissioned to create a new look for the frontage, along with a secondary logotype, with further implementation for other graphics such as menus, menu boards and signage. Also, a major update to the website was required. Some great photography for the site from Paul McGuckin and Marketing expertise from Grace Shields ensured an excellent result.

Mourne Antiques

Frances Spears, the very popular proprietor of Mourne Antiques, a family business established in 1984, commissioned me to create an updated brand identity for her Antique business. Well known and respected for both their quality jewellery and long-standing selection of antique furniture, china, and decorative pieces, the brief outlined the need for a new logo and also to design a layout style for all the promo material to reflect these elements.

Kernan’s Coffee House

Kernans, the well known Diner, Supermarket and Filling Station group, were launching a new Barista coffee, bakery and restaurant outlet. I was commissioned by Anthony Kernan to create a visual identity which included a logo, shop front, menu boards and other promotional material. We also had to create a name for the location…

Web

Brian Friel

A great project to work on, we created an online exhibition to explore and map ‘Brian Friel’s Ballybeg’, the enigmatic location created by the great Irish playwright.

Following intensive research and material gathering, we were able to create and build a very detailed exhibition which is ultimately a ‘treasure trove’ of information concerning Brian and his life, plays, workings and influences.

Coffee Options

‘It’s more than just a box of coffee’
The famous quote from owner and founder Denis O’Kane, which sums up very neatly the company philosophy. However, their website was in severe need of a refresh to reflect this, so when Marketing Exec Clint Walsh commissioned me to redesign the site, I was very happy to get stuck in. The rebuild required a complete overhaul from top to bottom to promote the wide range of services the company offers.

Finn Valley Leisure Centre

Sinead Donagher at the FVLC commissioned me to rebuild their existing site, with a stipulation to clearly position the Leisure Centre’s online presence away from the Athletics Centre. It was also a top to bottom revamp, to include timetables and class details, as well as promoting the first class facilities on offer.

Living in Donegal

A socially engaged Exhibition Project starring twenty seven people who live in County Donegal, Ireland, it features a snapshot of the lives and stories of these individuals in 2020. Due to the restrictions of Covid, the Exhibition was uniquely created to be presented online. We also produced a high-end book to partner the Virtual Exhibition.

Exhibition

Destination Donegal

A smashing project to be involved in, the concept was to feature 12 people from different corners of the world who had made Donegal their home. The exhibition comprised of 24 8×4 panels, 2 per person, one a large portrait, the second a compilation of personal anecdotes and photos, plus a geographical reference to their place of origin. The panels were supported by a showcase of the individuals belongings and videos featuring personal interviews.

NAFCO

Another great project to work on, this exhibition aimed to highlight the North Atlantic Fiddle and Dance tradition. First curated as part of the North Atlantic Fiddle Convention of 2012, the Exhibition introduces the traditional music played by fiddle players from different countries on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.

Local People

An art and social history exhibition which featured 40 people from Derry and Donegal. It aimed to present a snap shot of their lives, today and in the past. Similar to Destination Donegal in that we went for large scale panels featuring a portrait and personal anecdotes, the difference being that the panels in this case were printed on large pop-up banners to meet the requirement for the exhibition to be mobile. As well as various promo graphics, we produced a high end book to partner the exhibition too.

Advertising

RSA

I design and produce Advertising for one of my clients, Donegal Daily. Being an online News site, the Ads are obviously for a digital format, which gives you the opportunity to produce more dynamic solutions than traditional print Ads. We have promoted many campaigns for the RSA, this particular Ad being aimed at raising awareness to the dangers of using your mobile while driving.

Logotypes

Coffee House

A major part of the branding process for the new venture at Kernan’s, Newtown Cunningham, the logo gives a visual identity to the brand, but also carries the new name for the enterprise. As can be imagined, quite a few options were presented and trialled before settling on the chosen solution. This was then applied to the cafe front, window areas and other promotional material.

Kelly Hygiene & Catering

Formerly DHC, Eamon and Mairead Kelly branched out to form the new enterprise Kelly Hygiene & Catering. I was commissioned to create a new logo, which was then applied to all the new brochures, flyers, stationery and of course, the vehicle fleet.
